Vol. 466 No. 6

Written Answers. - TB and Brucellosis Tests.

Brian Cowen

Question:

151 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when results of blood tests were given to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who was awaiting them in respect of his herd test for TB and brucellosis; and whether his cards were returned on time for his application in respect of ten month and 22 month special beef premium. [12149/96]

Farmers can lodge three ten months' premium and three 22 months' premium applications at times of their own choosing between 1 January and 29 November. The delay in release of blood tests results from the Brucellosis Laboratory in Cork, which was due to industrial action at the time, does not therefore affect special beef premium entitlement. I understand that all cattle identity cards issued to the person named on 28 May 1996.
