I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Shortall — the problem of truck parking in residential areas; (2) Deputy Broughan — the need to re-examine the provision of resources for orthodontic dental care on the north side of Dublin; (3) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need to ensure that sentencing policy is consistent in view of a recent case in which an individual convicted of stealing goods with a total value of £31 was sentenced to five years in prison; (4) Deputy Kathleen Lynch — the effects on the work of FAS community employment schemes of recent changes in the eligibility criteria for such schemes with particular reference to the many arts-based schemes currently in operation and the effects on the employment prospects of those working in the arts; (5) Deputy Seán Ryan — the safety of plastic tanks for the storage of heating oil and the regulations, if any, for the installation of such tanks; (6) Deputy Briscoe — the need to establish a night court at a location in Dublin to deal with offences committed at night in order to deal expeditiously with minor offences which would otherwise give rise to congestion in the judicial process; (7) Deputy Michael P. Kitt — the need to allow existing one-teacher primary schools an extra teacher in view of the decision of the Minister for Education that no two-teacher school which would have lost a teacher under the staffing schedule will now lose a teacher; (8) Deputy Ó Cuív — an gá atá ann go gcuirfear áiseanna breise ar fáil ag Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin ar an gCeathrú Rua, Contae na Gaillimhe, agus freisin go ndéanfar an scoil a athchóiriú go hiomlán, lena chur in oiriúint don líon scoláirí atá ag freastal ar an scoil seo anois; (9) Deputy O'Dea — the need to re-examine the security arrangements for the protection of cash in transit in view of the tragic death of a member of the Garda Síochána on Friday last, 7 June 1996; (10) Deputy Quill — the need for a central register for charity collectors particularly in view of a recent case (details supplied) in which money collected has not been accounted for; (11) Deputy Tom Kitt — the action the Minister for Enterprise and Employment is taking in relation to the refusal by Packard Electric to agree to the Labour Court recommendations on redundancy payments to its 800 employees; (12) Deputies O'Rourke and Flood — if the Minister for Enterprise and Employment will seek an immediate meeting with the international management of Packard Electric and General Motors following the decision of Packard Electric to reject a Labour Court recommendation; (13) Deputies McDaid and Keaveney — the steps the Minister for Enterprise and Employment intends to take to offset the impact on County Donegal of the decision by the Fruit of the Loom company to introduce short-time working, and the plans he has for industrial development in the North-West in view of this decision by the company; (14) Deputy Mary Flaherty — the urgent need for a classroom assistant for St. Patrick's national school, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.
