Vol. 466 No. 7

Written Answers. - Implementation of Child Care Act.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

68 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health the sections of the Child Care Act, 1991, that have not been implemented; when it is proposed to implement these sections; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12230/96]

There are 18 sections of the Child Care Act, 1991, which remain to be implemented. These are contained in Parts VII and VIII of the Act and deal respectively with the supervision and inspection of pre-school services for children and the registration of children's residential centres.

The remaining sections of the Child Care Act will be implemented by the end of 1996.
