Vol. 467 No. 1

Written Answers. - EU Funding for Border Roads.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

183 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment the moneys, if any, that have been allocated to the National Roads Authority from the EU Peace Initiative funding; if so, the conditions, if any, that have been attached to this allocation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12693/96]

A provision of £2.5 million has been made available to the National Roads Authority in 1996, under the special support programme for peace and reconciliation to finance restoration works on the N3 associated with the reopening of the Border crossing at Aghalane Bridge. Details of the works to be funded are a matter for Cavan County Council and the National Roads Authority.
