Question:204 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in the provision of an extension for Scoil Íde Naofa, Kilmead, County Kildare; and when construction will commence. [12465/96]
Written Answers. - Kilmead (Kildare) School.
A major extension for the school referred to by the Deputy was included in my Department's 1995 capital programme. The project is progressing through architectural planning. My Department's architectural staff will shortly commence preparation of the tender documentation. This is expected to be completed in August.
When all the planning work has been completed, a decision on the tender and contract process will be taken in light of other priorities and available financial resources. The school was advised of the position at a meeting with my Department's officials on 29 May 1996.
