Vol. 467 No. 1

Written Answers. - Special School Transport.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

207 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education the current position in respect of the provision of transport for a child (details supplied) in County Donegal to allow him to attend a special school. [12491/96]

I understand that the child in question was due to be assessed on 14 June 1996 to establish his suitabilty for referral to the special school mentioned by the Deputy. My Department has not yet been advised of the outcome of that assessment.

In the event of such a referral being decided upon, as a result of the assessment, my Department's agent, Bus Éireann, will be requested to pursue the question of school transport for the child.
