Question:

278 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Social Welfare the plans, if any, he has to close the social welfare branch office in Kenmare, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12617/96]

It is proposed to take Questions Nos. 276, 277 and 278 together. As stated on a number of occasions in the House in the recent past, no decision has yet been taken with regard to the future of the branch offices. Any such decision will be fully discussed with the branch managers under the terms of the conciliation and arbitration scheme which covers them. Service to social welfare customers in Kenmare is provided from a departmentally staffed office.
