Question:318 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Marine when the necessary fisheries improvement works will be carried out to the Castlehill River, Ballina, County Mayo, as promised by his Department in April 1996. [12543/96]
Written Answers. - Mayo Fisheries Improvement Works.
I am advised by the North Western Regional Fisheries Board, which is responsible for the development and improvement of fisheries in its region, that fisheries improvement works are under way on the Castlehill River and will be completed shortly. The works in question involve this installation of weirs and deflectors and protection of banks suffering from erosion.
