Vol. 467 No. 2

Written Answers. - Rathcairn (Meath) All-Irish School.

Noel Dempsey

Question:

118 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in finalising the purchase of a site for Coláiste Pobail, Rathcairn, County Meath; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12967/96]

A potential site for the provision of the proposed new all-Irish school at Rathcairn, County Meath has been identified by County Meath vocational education committee.

Details in relation to the area and cost of the site were recently submitted to the post primary building unit of my Department for consideration and approval. An assessment on the value of the site has been requested from the Valuation Office.

When the Valuation Office assessment has been submitted to the building unit for examination, and the suitability of the site determined, the question of a purchase will arise.
