I propose to take Questions Nos. 60, 61 and 62 together.

The following table shows the amounts of revenue debts directly collected by sheriffs in 1995, by Bailiwick, which I take it is the information the Deputy is seeking.

Referral of cases by the Revenue Commissioners to the sheriffs for enforcement is done under the provisions of section 485 of the Income Tax Act, 1967 as amended. In 1995 a substantial volume of additional payments was also made directly to the Collector-General by taxpayers in respect of revenue debt which had been referred to the sheriffs for enforcement.
