Vol. 467 No. 6

Written Answers. - Southern Health Board Funding.

Joe Walsh

Question:

76 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment when funding will be made available to the Southern Health Board for a housing scheme for the elderly. [13880/96]

I assume that the question relates to the scheme of special housing aid for the elderly which is operated by a task force representative of voluntary bodies, Government Departments, local authorities and FÁS and administered by the health boards, under the aegis of my Department. An initial allocation of £400,000 for 1996 was notified by the task force to the Southern Health Board for the operation of the scheme within its area. A further allocation for 1996 will be notified to the health board later in the year.
