111 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Social Welfare the total amount paid out in national lottery grants from 1 January 1996, to date by his Department in respect of each county or constituency in the country; and the specific project funded from each grant allocation. [13892/96]
The following table sets out the amount paid out in national lottery funding by county to date in 1996. National lottery funding is used in my Department to support the community development programme, islands development programme and a number of family resource centres. The total allocation of national lottery funding to my Department in 1996 is £4.46 million.
Each of these programmes provide funding on a three-year basis to projects participating in the programmes and payments are made on a quarterly basis and depend on continued progress on the implementation of the agreed workplan and receipt of accounts and returns for payments previously issued. To date, two rounds of quarterly payments have been made. Further rounds of quarterly payments to projects in the programme are due in early July and early October.
