265 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Justice whether the Government Press Secretary contacted Garda Headquarters at the time of the murder of a garda in Adare, County Limerick, in relation to Garda statements on IRA involvement in the attack; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My understanding is that there was no contact between the Government press secretary and Garda Headquarters about this matter. I understand that queries to the Government press secretary relating to the on-going murder investigation were directed to the Garda press office.
