320 Mr. D. Wallace asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the total value of EU grant aid received by his Department during 1995; if he will give a breakdown of this figure by scheme; the total value of grants bestowed by his Department during 1995; the recipient of each such grant valued at £100,000 or greater; and the amount of each grant that is covered by an EU fund. There is provision for direct assistance to my Department in the various EU programmes covering tourism and market development under just one heading, namely, technical assistance.

To date my Department has received £16,629 in direct EU aid from the Operation Programme for Tourism 1994-1999 under the Technical Assistance Sub-Programme towards the cost of evaluation.
