Vol. 467 No. 7

Written Answers. - Ear Operation Delay.

Michael Ring

Question:

74 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for an ear operation in view of the fact that the delay is affecting her school work and she is in considerable pain. [14017/96]

Limerick East): Inquiries were made from the Western Health Board in relation to the person concerned. At present the health board is unable to provide an exact date for admission but expects that it will be in the very near future.

As the Deputy is aware the scheduling of surgery is the clinical decision of the consultant concerned. Should the person referred to feel her condition has deteriorated she should contact her general practitioner who would be in the best position to take the matter up with the consultant directly.
