756 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Social Welfare the live register figures on which the 1996 Department of Social Welfare Estimates were prepared; and the current numbers on the live register. [15754/96]

765 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Social Welfare the live register level employed in the 1996 budget calculations; the number on the live register at end June 1996; and the projected levels for the year end 1996. [15971/96]

It is proposed to take Questions Nos. 756, 757 and 765 together. The live register figure underlying the 1996 published Estimates and budget calculations for the Department is 275,000. On 28 June 1996, the total number of persons on the live register was 282,897. On 30 June 1995, the total number of persons on the live register was 276,104.
