Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Board Deficits.

Ivor Callely

Question:

233 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health if he will give a breakdown of the current deficits for each health board; the areas where over-runs have occurred; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16661/96]

Limerick East): While health boards have reported that there are particular pressures in certain services such as acute hospitals and child care, appropriate corrective action is being taken by the boards to ensure that the agreed service levels can be delivered within approved expenditure limits. My Department is monitoring the situation closely to ensure that there are no over-runs in 1996.
