Question:

565 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the projected number of visits which he will undertake between now and the end of December 1996, in the context of Ireland's Presidency of the EU, to EU member destinations, other European destinations, North American destinations. African destinations and other destinations; the total cost of such travel; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16644/96]

Eight visits are projected: seven to EU destinations and one to Singapore. Details are as follows.

EU destinations: 25 October, Luxembourg, Internal Market Council of Ministers; 28-29 October, Luxembourg, General Affairs Council of Ministers; 5 November, Brussels, Tourism Council of Ministers; 21 November, Brussels, European Parliament; 25 November, Brussels, General Affairs Council of Ministers; 26 November, Brussels, Internal Market Council of Ministers and 6 December, Brussels, General Affairs Council of Ministers. Other destinations: 9-13 December, Singapore, Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organisation.

The estimated cost of my expenses in relation to these visits is £10,000.
