652 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the estimated total cost to his Department of all bulletins, pamphlets, newsletters, circulars arising from Ireland's Presidency of the EU; and the estimated total additional cost to his Department of Ireland's Presidency, indicating the major items of expense. Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications (Mr. Lowry)

A special provision of £320,000 was made in the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications' 1996 administrative budget in respect of the additional costs of holding the EU Presidency. The major items of additional expense are projected to be incurred on items relating to travel and subsistence and incidental expenses.
