Vol. 469 No. 2

Written Answers. - Shannon Development Funding.

Tony Killeen

Question:

130 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the level of annual grant support from his Department to fund the regional tourism organisation, Shannon Development, in the Shannon region. [17152/96]

The funds voted to Shannon Free Airport Development Company Limited for tourism development, inclusive of functions similar to those carried out by the regional tourism organisations in other regions are set out in the annual Estimates for Public Services. An amount of £1 million has been provided for this purpose in 1996 under subhead B.5 of my Department's Vote. The allocation of moneys from this provision for Shannon Development's various tourism functions is a matter for the company itself.
