Vol. 469 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

136 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a slaughter house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [17094/96]

The slaughter-house mentioned by the Deputy was approved on 10 June 1996 for grant aid of £75,000 FEOGA and £15,000 national aid to upgrade their abattoir to EU Directive standards.

Correspondence was subsequently received from the company's solicitors indicating that a premises more suitable to the company had come on the market and seeking the transfer of the approval to that premises. My Department has no objection in principle to transferring the approval to the new premises but this will entail the submission of a new application for grant aid with the relevant costings.

The company has been informed of the position and submission of a new application for grant aid is awaited.
