56 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance, in relation to PAYE taxpayers and self-employed taxpayers, if he will give the figures for the most recent year for which figures are available in respect of the number of persons who have paid an amount of tax falling in the categories of £2,000, £2,000 to £4,000 and £4,000 upwards; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The relevant information available is an estimated distribution of the numbers of PAYE and non-PAYE income taxpayers by range of tax liability. Following is the information in question:
