Written Answers. - GMS Doctors Service.

Michael McDowell

Question:

85 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Minister for Health his views on whether general medical scheme doctors in Dublin are providing an adequate service during after-normal working hours; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17135/96]

Limerick East): Aspects of the operation of out-of-hours cover by general practitioners, including the adequacy of current arrangements in particular areas, will be the subject of a review which will shortly be undertaken by representatives of the Department, the health boards and the Irish Medical Organisation. In the circumstances, I would prefer to defer comment until the results of this review are available.
