108 Mr. Gallagher (Donegal South-West) asked the Minister for Health whether his new national policy on cancer care is completed; and whether he will contemporaneously submit proposals to Cabinet seeking additional Exchequer resources in 1997. [18025/96]
Limerick East): I have prepared a series of initiatives relating to cancer, including a national cancer strategy. I intend to bring these initiatives to Government in the very near future and to publish the strategy without delay. I will be asking the Government to take account of my proposals in the context of funding for the health services in 1997 and subsequent years.
