Vol. 470 No. 2
149 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the projects assisted to date under INTERREG II; the projects approved for assistance; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18840/96]
In my reply to Deputies Brendan Smith and Kathleen Lynch on June 25 last — Official Report, Volume 467, No. 4, columns 969-970 — I provided a list of all the tourism projects approved for funding under the Ireland-Northern Ireland and Maritime INTERREG II programmes up to that date.
Since then, a further seven projects have been approved for European Regional Development Fund funding of over £1 million under the Northern Ireland INTERREG programme but because letters of offer have not yet been issued by Bord Fáilte to the successful applicants, I am not in a position to give the Deputy details of these projects at this time.
In so far as the Maritime INTERREG II programme is concerned, one project has been approved, the details of which are given in the following table. Applicants in respect of a number of other tourism projects for funding under this programme are currently under consideration but additional information is still required before final decisions and offers of grant assistance can be made.
