229 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice the progress, if any, which has been made by her Department in the drafting of legislation in relation to stalking; and if she will give an approximate date for the publication of such legislation. [19297/96]

Legislation to amend the law on non fatal offences against the person is at an advanced stage of drafting. That legislation will include provisions to make stalking an offence. I hope to publish the Bill before the end of the year, or soon after.
