256 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the amount paid by his Department in relation to publicity and public relations in each of the years from 1994 to date in 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19184/96]

My Department paid out £30,131 in 1994, £25,629 in 1995 and £32,670 in 1996 to date to public relations firms, while expenditure under subhead A8 (Advertising and Publicity) amounted to £22,619, £30,829 and £10,667 respectively in the same periods.
