Vol. 470 No. 5
22 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of persons paid under the dairy hygiene scheme. [19443/96]
To date payments have been made under the dairy hygiene scheme to 1,111 applicants who completed approved works to my Department's specification and submitted the necessary documentation.
23 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total cost of set aside payments in the first nine months of 1996; if he has satisfied himself with the extent to which set aside land is used for the production of non-food crops; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19411/96]
The estimated amount paid under set aside in the period January-September 1996 is £200,000. On the matter of the extent to which set aside land is used for the production of non-food crops, I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 288 on this topic on 15 October 1996.
