Vol. 470 No. 6

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — delays in testing for cervical cancer; (2) Deputy Upton — the need for the Minister for the Environment to take urgent action to ensure that local authority housing estates are managed in such a manner as to minimise the opportunities for drug dealing and anti-social behaviour in those areas; (3) Deputy Eric Byrne — the urgent need for permanent premises to be made available at Crumlin multi-denominational school; (4) Deputy Noel Ahern — the rent allowances being given to drug pushers evicted from or forced out of their local authority housing; (5) Deputy Tom Kitt — subsidisation by the Government of Irish Ferries; (6) Deputy McDaid — the current situation relating to the water supply at Churchill, County Donegal, in view of the fact that many families in this area have no water supply whatsoever; (7) Deputy Broughan — the urgent need to take all necessary steps, including the removal of subsidies and the use of non-European Union crews, to prevent the closure of the Irish Continental Group's sea route from Rosslare to France and the consequential loss of up to 400 jobs on the north side of Dublin and in Wexford and (8) Deputy Briscoe — the lack of response or assistance from the Department of Education regarding the multi-denominational school in Crumlin.

The matters raised by Deputies McDaid, Briscoe, Noel Ahern and Tom Kitt have been selected for discussion.
