Vol. 470 No. 6

Written Answers. - Sale of House.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

49 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for the Environment if he will review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who has sold his house to Streetwise Housing Association and who awaits payments in this regard from his Department. [19611/96]

Payment for this house is a matter for the association who have purchased it. I understand the purchase is in connection with a project the association proposes to undertake with the assistance available for the provision of housing by voluntary bodies under the capital assistance scheme. The administration of this scheme, including certification that particular projects comply with its terms, is the responsibility of the local authority, in this instance, Athlone Urban District Council. Formal application for funding the project has not been received from the council.
