Written Answers. - Lismore (Waterford) School.

Austin Deasy

Question:

158 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the provision of a central school located in Lismore, County Waterford, to cater for the children in the west Waterford area, as has been mooted by her Department for a number of years. [19711/96]

My Department's post primary building unit have agreed purchase terms with the CBS for the property in Lismore which will be the location for the new community school. As soon as the legal aspects of the transaction have been finalised, my Department will be in a position to commence with the architectural planning of this new facility.

At this early stage, it is not possible to say when construction will commence.
