Seamus Brennan
Question:142 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to an application, dated 4 May 1995, seeking sanction for the replacement of prefabs which are up to 32 years-old at a school (detail supplied) in Dublin; if her attention has further been drawn to the visit by an inspector of her Department almost five months later which was the first contact from her Department; the date the inspector's report was submitted to her Department; if an architectural inspection has been carried out on the disintegrating prefabs which have serious roof problems along with part of the buildings being beyond repair, and that the school is now faced with a cost in excess of £4,000 for essential repairs to the prefabs; if she will cover the essential repairs as a special grant given that this cost would almost wipe out the minor works grant due to be introduced in January 1997; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
