425 Mr. D. Wallace asked the Minister for Defence the total value of support during 1995 from his Department for projects in Cork county and city; if he will identify each such project; the level of funding allocated in respect of each such project during 1995; and if he will break down each value into Exchequer and EU sub-components. Expenditure in the region of £1 million was incurred in 1995 in respect of contracts for the provision and maintenance of military accommodation in the county of Cork. About £4 million was expanded in 1995 on the repair and maintenance of Naval Service vessels and ancillary equipment and facilities, the bulk of which related to work undertaken at the naval base, Haulbowline, and subvention of £330,000 approximately was paid by the European Union under the Fishery Protection Programme in respect of a number of qualifying items.
