Vol. 472 No. 3

Written Answers. - CAO Forms.

Micheál Martin

Question:

126 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education the steps, if any, she will take to ensure that building societies are stated on CAO application forms when recipients are accepting a college place. [22927/96]

The Central Applications Office, CAO, is a private company limited by guarantee — non-profit making — which processes applications centrally on behalf of participating institutions.

My Department does not have any function in relation to the arrangements operated by the CAO and the third level institutions for the processing of applications.
