Vol. 472 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Building Projects.

Micheál Martin

Question:

113 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education the steps, if any, she will take to purchase a site at Summerhill, Mallow, County Cork, for the purposes of building a new permanent school building for gaelscoil Thomáis Dáibhís. [23647/96]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 160 on Wednesday, 30 October, 1996, in which I indicated that an examination of the overall accommodation situation in the Mallow centre was being carried out by my Department.

As soon as this examination is completed, I will be in a position to make a decision as to whether a site should be purchased for the purpose of building a new permanent school building for gaelscoil Thomáis Dáibhís. I assure the Deputy that the matter is being accorded the highest priority in my Department.
