151 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made on an application by a school (details supplied) in County Galway for grant aid for the building of an extension to replace a prefab. [23939/96]
An extension to the school to which the Deputy refers is included on my Department's 1995 capital programme.
All of the planning work is now complete and the contract documentation is ready. A decision on the timing of the tender process will be taken in the light of existing contractual commitments for 1997, and funds which will be available in 1997. Both of these matters are under consideration at present and I expect that the process will be completed shortly.
