63 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health if he will fund a sign language interpretation service to facilitate deaf persons in accessing health services. [23850/96]

Limerick East): Following tripartite discussions between the National Rehabilitation Board, the National Association for the Deaf, NAD, and the Irish Deaf Society, proposals for an integrated sign language interpreter service were agreed. I have approved a lottery grant of £20,000 towards the development of this service.
