No application for grant aid for refurbishment works to Scoil an Leith Triúigh, Brandon, has been received by my Department's post-primary building unit. If such an application is received, it will be processed in the normal way.

Question:

95 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Education whether she will make funding available to commence construction of Caherceiveen community college, County Kerry; the current position regarding this project; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24028/96]

Architectural planning for the proposed new community college at Cahirciveen is proceeding and the planning and building unit of my Department is at present examining the stage four and five submission — detail design and bill of quantities. When the scheme has been found to be satisfactory, the next stage is the invitation of tenders.

The question of including this project in the 1997 capital programme will be considered in the light of the available capital resources and the Department's other commitments and priorities.
