Vol. 472 No. 8

Written Answers. - Garda Deployment.

Tony Gregory

Question:

104 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if she will request the Garda to arrange regular patrols to a senior citizens complex (details supplied) in Dublin 1, which is adjacent to Fitzgibbon Street Garda Station and has had several recent break-ins and attacks on senior citizens. [24187/96]

As the Deputy will appreciate, the detailed allocation of Garda resources to meet operational policing demands is a matter for the Garda Commissioner.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that two community policing gardaí perform regular patrols in the area of the senior citizens complex and they maintain regular contact with the caretaker and residents.
