20 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Finance when the mid-term review of the EU's support funding will take place; the changes, if any, he has proposed in the programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24059/96]
The mid-term review of the Community Support Framework and its constituent operational programmes and the Community initiatives is currently under way. It is intended that the review will be completed around the middle of next year. Proposals for changes in the programmes will be considered in light of the reports of the external evaluators when these come to hand. Responsibility for making changes in the operational programmes and the CSF will rest with the monitoring committees, subject to the agreement of the national authorities and the European Commission.
