120 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the reason for the delay in introducing the Bord na Móna Bill in respect of the debts of the company; when he intends to publish the Bill; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24892/96]
The preparation of draft legislation providing for the incorporation of Bord na Móna as a company under the Companies Act is currently at an advanced stage in my Department. Finalisation of this legislation has had to await the decision of the European Commission on any possible State aid implications of the Government's proposal to inject equity into the company. The decision of the Commission is expected shortly and I will be putting the draft legislation before Government for approval early in the new year.
