Vol. 473 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

157 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in finalising the contract for the development of a building (details supplied) in County Cork. [25069/96]

The sealing of the contract-agreement for the erection of a new Garda station on the site of the existing Garda station was delayed at the request of the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht whose request for alterations to the planned structure have now been accepted by the developers. The necessary revisions to the contract-agreement are being attended to and it is expected that the revised document will be executed before Christmas thus enabling the developer to commence on site immediately in the new year. A full report on this issue was given in the Dáil Adjournment debate on 17 December to the same Deputy.
