Vol. 473 No. 3

Written Answers. - EU Presidency.

Ivor Callely

Question:

200 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Social Welfare the cost of the Irish Presidency to his Department. [25148/96]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 524 of 25 September 1996. The costs incurred by my Department in relation to Ireland's Presidency of the EU were estimated at £300,000. While it is not possible, at this juncture, to give full and final details of these costs as invoices are still being processed, it is anticipated that expenditure will be within budget and that savings will be made on the original projection.
