Vol. 473 No. 3

Written Answers. - Ministerial Travel.

Ivor Callely

Question:

207 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the number of foreign trips made by him during 1996; the destination, purpose and duration of the trips; whether the Government jet or scheduled flights were used; the identity and designation of persons who accompanied him on each trip; the number, purpose and duration of each meeting attended by him on such trips; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25134/96]

The information requested by the Deputy is in the following tabular statement.

The Deputy will appreciate the difficulty in answering questions in relations to the purpose and duration of each of the meetings attended by me in the course of the various trips over the past year. For example, in the case of the WTO Ministerial Conference in Singapore, in addition to co-chairing the conference, I attended 38 separate meetings which were directly relevant to the subject matter of the conference.
