209 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if he has considered using local authorities as a vehicle to raise tourism marketing funds by imposing and collecting a hotel bedroom levy-tax; if such proposals have been submitted to Cabinet; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The possibility of local authorities imposing an hotel bedroom levy-tax, whether to raise tourism marketing funds or for other purposes, does not fall within my remit and is not something to which I have given any consideration.
