While it is difficult to estimate the amount which will be spent by my Department on consultancy services in 1997, a figure of £500,000 has been provided in this regard in the recently published Estimates for Public Services — Abridged Version — and Summary Capital Programme, 1997.
No consultants have been appointed by me or either of the Ministers of State at my Department to carry out work on behalf of semi-State bodies under the aegis of my Department nor have any reviews, consultancies or reports been commissioned.
