Vol. 473 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Noel Davern

Question:

244 Mr. Davern asked the Minister for the Environment if he intends to provide finance for a sewerage scheme at Limerick Junction; and, if so, when the work on this scheme will commence. [1009/97]

Preliminary proposals for this scheme have recently been submitted to my Department but, given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage scheme programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve the scheme.

Edward Nealon

Question:

245 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment the progress, if any, with the scheme for the extension of Manorhamilton sewerage scheme, County Leitrim, to Lurganboy in view of the fact that the contract documents for the extension have been in the possession of his Department for a considerable time and that this has been an issue since the 1960s; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1119/97]

Given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage scheme programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this proposal.
