The student summer jobs scheme proved to be a great success again last year with very positive responses from both sponsors and students.
In 1996, 18,275 students were approved and to date recoupment claims in respect of 15,764 students have been received from sponsors. Claims are still being received and it is expected that the final figure will be about 15,800.
