Vol. 473 No. 6

Written Answers. - Roads Funding.

Colm M. Hilliard

Question:

164 Mr. Hilliard asked the Minister for the Environment the estimated percentage of the £172.8 million in relation to Vote 25 C2, which will be spent on county roads and class 3 county roads, which are in an appalling condition throughout the country particularly in County Meath. [2248/97]

Non-national road grant allocations are not subdivided on the basis of road categories and, subject to general guidelines issued by my Department, it is a matter for local authorities to decide what shares of the allocations made to them should be devoted to particular roads or classes of roads. Accordingly, the information requested is not available in my Department.
