257 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in examining a complaint of a gun (details supplied) being damaged while in storage in Collins Barracks, Cork; when action will be taken in this regard; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2306/97]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 221 and 257 together.
The gun referred to by the Deputy was examined by a firearms dealer and was found to be in good condition except for a few scratches. The bolt also required adjustment. It is now in good working order.
